| Gee, Charlene, if Chrysler and its products are so bad, why are they even
on this list. Oh yeah, thats right - Consumer Reports knows not of what
it speaks because owners are not truthful. Give me a break! |
| The problem is that they are biased and refuse to admit it.
Consumer Reports is far from perfect, certainly. They are not car
people like some of us. But they are far less anecdotal than some of the
recommendations from people on the street. For *certain kinds of data*,
they are more probably more objective than the rest of us. |

Consumers Report send their reliability survey around April of each year and
they publish the auto results on the April Issue NEXT YEAR. So this means that
the recent 1995 Auto Issue has data that is one year old. Why does it take
them that long to publish the data? |
| Hi All,
Even though its generally accepted that Japanese cars are, on average, more
reliable than American brands, I wonder if Consumer Reports magazine is
biased against American car makers.
For example, in the recent April annual auto issue, Saturns SL models did
not receive a Recommended rating (the SC did). Saturn was also not on the
list of recommended used cars and their reliability was rated only about
average for models more than a couple of years old.
I thought Saturn was a more reliable make than CR is suggesting, at least
their reputation and resale value seem to suggest so. Do you all think CR
is telling the truth, or are they biased in favor of Honda, Toyota, and
other Japanese car makers? Your feedback is appreciated.

Personally, I dont trust consumer reports... they havent been accurate on a
few things (in fact, completely wrong).
On which things has /Consumer Reports/ been completely wrong? Matters
of opinion like various social issues dont count, since right and
wrong are in the eye of the beholder. On what *objective* points has CR
been completely wrong?
