| I wouldnt put a lot of stock in consumer reports auto rating, just a guide.
I believe the people with problems are more apt to respond to cu questions
than people without problems. i dont belive cu relates to the seriosness of
a prolem, only that a problem had existed. |

The November 1998 issue of Consumer Reports magazine rated snow tires, and
the highest-rated all-around performer was the Michelin XM+S Alpin and the
highest-rated snow/ice tires were the Yokohama Guardex 600/Dunlop Graspic
HS-1. |

Personally, I dont trust consumer reports... they havent been accurate on a
few things (in fact, completely wrong).
On which things has /Consumer Reports/ been completely wrong? Matters
of opinion like various social issues dont count, since right and
wrong are in the eye of the beholder. On what *objective* points has CR
been completely wrong?

I received the 2000 Consumer Reports Auto guide which features comparison of
new vehicles as well as used vehicles to help people from buying a lemon.
In their ratings of Wranglers, almost everything was rated avg or poor on
92-93 Wranglers but things got better for 94s and above. Does anyone know
what the major change between 93 and 94 was to make such a difference? |

Why does the LT-1 in the Z-28 get an unfavorable rating in the Consumer
Reports auto issue? I know this is not the favorite publication of
many, but over the years I have found that their ratings at least show
some tendencies.
