Sure, you can get ripped off if you dont pay attention to what the terms and costs of the lease are, but this is also true of a purchase. A little bit of knowledge about finance can go a long way when evaluating these auto deals. It displays a great deal of ignorance when someone makes a blanket statement that leases are a rip off. There are advantages and disadvantages to both leasing and purchasing, and not all leases are the same. The answer to the question, Which is a better deal? depends on many factors (lease terms, financing rates, duration of use, tax situation, resale value over time, ...).
Buyer Beware When it Comes to Leasing . . . Christine had gone to an automobile dealership over the weekend and had given in to the pressures of the salesperson. Now here she was on Monday morning wondering just what she had gotten herself into. Christine just leased a new car and she had no idea how much she had paid for it. The salesperson told her that the vehicle stickered for $17,900. He gave her a discount of $1,000 and a manufacturers rebate of $500. She also put down $1,000 cash. The problem . . . she suspected that she actually financed more than $15,400 on the lease, but she did not know for sure. All that she knew was that the payment was $306 per month for 60 months. She called her bank and asked a loan officer how much the payments would be on a loan for $15,400 and 60 months. The payment was $317 per month. With her suspicions confirmed, she had him calculate a 60 month lease. The payment came to $250 per month. Christines lease contract .
5) Would you be interested in a program that pays a two year lease for you just for referring people to the five star auto program. Example1: You refer 3 people to the auto club you place your order for a 12,000 dollar car when these three have gotten three or you have a total of nine people you take deliver of your new 12,000 dollar car.
