| Although the minimum leasing (its not really a lease) period of Renault
and Peugeot brand new cars is 17 days, you may turn the car in a shorter
period (you pay for 17 days and only use it, say, during 14 days). Also, on
top of the leasing cost (which includes total insurance) there are fees for
pick up and drop off outside France. Eventually, these fees might not be
charged (special offers). Twice, in the past, I got big discounts on the car
lease (Renault), by flying Air France (USD 150/each air ticket). Italy is
one of the most expensive countries in Europe to rent cars, specially if you
indeed have to pay for CDW (many times it is just about impossible to forfait
it even if eventually covered by your credit card). Finally, leasing or
renting in Italian airports is more expensive because of a surcharge. For
the particular period you intend to travel, you might wnat to try clear
things up by calling Kemwel (1-800-678-0-678). Theyre car rental wholesalers
and also intermediate car. |

I have a question regarding auto leasing. Two years ago, I leased a 98 Jeep
Cherokee SE 2 Dr. in North Carolina through Bancamerica Auto Finance. It was a
4 yr./60K mi. lease. Two years in, I am dying to find any way to break my
lease and purchase another car. Does anyone out there have any experience or
knowledge on how to get out of an auto lease and the types of costs/penalties
associated with it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. |
